A preview of the Feature Gooney: v0.1

Features are an important part of MOSS 2007. The Feature Gooney is intended to make it easier to understand and manage features. The current 0.1 version is pretty limited. Right now, it offers intelligent support when reading features that are located in the 12 Hive.

For example, the following figure shows the intelligent support shown for the Group attribute of the ContentType element.

Currently the Feature Gooney understands the following feature XML elements:

  • ContentType

    • The Feature Gooney also contains a library containing some examples of SharePoint features and a small tool that can be used to create GUIDs.
